The properties of different brasses depend on the composition of the alloy, particularly the copper-zinc and lead ratio. Compositions of brass alloys are well regulated in many industrial standards, such as JIS, ASTM, CEN or DIN standards. As well as chemical compositions, mechanical properties, hardness, and test methods of the brass rods and wires are also included in the standards.
